There's an old story (which may be an urban legend) about someone who wondered how well cats would do in zero-g (since they're nimble, "always land on their feet", etc). So, said experimenter took a cat up in a small aircraft and performed a short zero-g parabola. At the start of the maneuver, the experimenter held the cat out in front of him, let go, and waited to see what happened. The cat was not at all pleased by the sudden lack of gravity, so it unfurled its claws and grabbed on to the nearest object--which happened to be the experimenter's face! --- Josh Hopkins |
