Bearded Intruder shot by Homeowner
Ipswich Qld Police are investigating the death of an elderly man in an Ipswich home last night. The man apparently died after being shot several times by the occupant of the house. Mr P. Chute (not his real name) was quoted as saying.. "I heard some movement down in the rumpus room and took my trusty shotgun to investigate. When I opened the door I discovered some fat man dressed up like he was going to a fancy dress party in Alaska. He was bending over the christmas tree and interfering with my property. "He had a big sack full of God knows what else, but obviously taken from other houses in the neighbourhood. When I told him to freeze he laughed at me and his fat belly moved in a threatening manner.. I said 'I'll give you Ho Ho Ho' and let fly with both barrels." Police say the dead man, identified only as Nick, is known to the authorities, but were unable to explain how he might have got through the heavily barred doors and windows. Police later detained eight reindeer for questioning.
